Fiddlestick-style retrievable anchor kit
Create a fiddlestick-style retrievable anchor kit customised to your specific needs.
Fiddlestick-style toggles are a popular tool that can be used in a range of canyon settings. In more remote, wilderness areas they allow you to leave no trace (often referred to as “ghosting), avoiding leaving webbing, quicklinks, or other anchor materials behind.
Other potential benefits include: making difficult rope retrievals easier; allowing you to use high-friction natural anchors like chockstones, arches and trees; using anchors set well back from the edge; abseiling a different line to the optimal pull-down direction; requiring less rope for drops; easily retrieving a rope with a knot (where it was damaged and isolated, or two ropes were joined); and preventing rope grooves on soft rock or ringbarking of trees. Setting up a fiddlestick is generally faster than building a traditional anchor and time is also saved on retrieval as you don’t need to pull half the rope around the anchor.
This kit brings together all the elements you need to successfully use this technique, along with several optional extras that we highly recommend.
Note: this page allows you to order a complete kit, but before doing so we recommend you read the full descriptions of the various components to decide which combination will be best for you. These include the toggles, pull cord bags, pull cords, and other optional components. If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch.
